History
The New York Opera Society (NYOS) is a non-profit subsidiary of Ira Siff's La Gran Scena (1984-present) in the United States and France. NYOS is an educational and touring company dedicated to the promotion of classical music through relevant and accessible productions for domestic and international audiences. Towards that effort, NYOS presents premiere quality, interdisciplinary, contemporary and classical repertoire with professional artists via their Annual Festival in Southwest France, Great Masterclass Series, Outreach in Underserved Communities and Jeunes Solistes Training Program.
NYOS strives to integrate with its public by maintaining diversity within its organization and by actively involving local practitioners, organizations and musicians in its artistic endeavors.
The New York Opera Society is led by a dedicated and select Board of Directors and Jennifer Cho, a dual degree Northwestern University School of Music and College of Arts and Sciences alumna. Jennifer Cho is the recipient of numerous awards and has completed her education with distinction.
Leveraging their significant entrepreneurial expertise, international roots and vast network of corporate professionals and premiere caliber performers, NYOS strives tirelessly to further the classic art form by simultaneously creating performance opportunities for peer artists and by enriching the public through educational efforts.
