Gisle Kverndokk
Gisle Kverndokk is a Grammy-nominated, Juilliard-trained Norwegian composer with 14 acclaimed musicals and operas to his name. He's known for a highly collaborative approach and a gift for evocative, audience-friendly storytelling. His work spans both contemporary theatre and symphonic concert stages.

Ricardo Llorca
Ricardo Llorca is a Guggenheim Fellow and Juilliard-trained Spanish-American composer on the faculty of The Juilliard School. He's renowned for a highly collaborative approach and a musical voice that's both emotionally resonant and accessible. His work bridges classical structural rigor with deeply expressive storytelling across global opera and symphonic concert stages.

Alisa Jordheim
Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for her "vocally resplendent" sound, Alisa Jordheim is a frequent NYOS collaborator. She's best known here for the title role in Letters from Ruth at the National Gallery of Art. A Fulbright Scholar and champion of new music, she's performed with San Diego Opera, the Pacific Symphony, and San Francisco Opera.

Rosa Torres-Pardo
Rosa Torres-Pardo is Spain's 2017 National Music Prize winner and an NYOS Artist in Residence. She's best known here for her piano work on Las Horas Vacías. She's performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, London's Royal Philharmonic, and at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, alongside conductors like Charles Dutoit and Plácido Domingo.

Allan Palacios Chan
Described by Fanfare Magazine as "one of the most talented and intriguing of living composers," Lori Laitman has written operas, choral works, and over 350 songs, many devoted to Holocaust remembrance. Her opera The Scarlet Letter was recorded by Naxos and named an Opera News Critic's Choice, with commissions from the BBC, Seattle Opera, and the Royal Philharmonic Society among her credits.
COMPOSER
Praised by Opera News as a "clarion high tenor," Allan Palacios Chan performed as Achille in NYOS's Babette's Feast. He trained with legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne and got his start at Cincinnati Opera. These days, he's also making waves as a symphonic pop artist, with a recent single featured on a Times Square billboard.
Personally selected by Valery Gergiev for his Master Class and the film "The Master and His Pupil," Alexis Soriano is one of the most outstanding Spanish conductors of his generation. He's led the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Prague Symphony, and the English Chamber Orchestra, and currently serves as NYOS's Artistic Director. Gergiev himself called him "an excellent symphonic and Opera conductor."
